Two things under one name and the distinction matters. MEATS BY LINZ is a broadline premium meat DISTRIBUTOR (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry) — that part conveys nothing about farming. LINZ HERITAGE ANGUS is a genuinely vertically integrated Black Angus program: company seedstock and cow herds (5,000+ acres at Byars OK, up to ~800 cows; partnership with Riley Brothers Angus, Darlington WI) feeding into the company-owned ~10,000-head Timpas feedlot at Rocky Ford CO. Owning the genetics, the cows and the feedyard is real conception-to-plate control and puts it above a typical Certified Angus program. Not exemplary: it is grain-finished commodity-scale feedlot beef with no third-party welfare or environmental certification.
