Solid

Quality assessment

A fully vertically integrated Kagoshima producer group — feed production, breeding, nursing, rearing, fattening, dairy and pig farming under one company, building the Satsuma Gyu program since the 1980s, with twelve master farmers raising cattle to a shared protocol in the Minami-Satsuma Valley. Named prefecture, named valley, named farmer cohort, member of the Kagoshima Meat Export Federation. It is NOT a single farm, and — importantly — Kamichiku also raises crossbreeds and Holsteins alongside Kuroge Wagyu, so the company name alone does not guarantee full-blood wagyu. Solid, not exemplary, on that mixed-herd basis.

Medium-high — Japan's 10-digit individual identification system applies to every animal; the company publishes its integrated structure.

Caveats

MIXED HERD: Kamichiku raises Japanese Black, crossbreeds AND Holsteins. 'Kamichiku beef' is therefore not automatically Kuroge Wagyu — require the grade (A4/A5) and the individual ID. Kagoshima is a prefecture brand, not Kobe. Not yet linked to a venue row; carried from the CEO purveyor list.

Kagoshima, Japan-based integrated cattle group raising Japanese Black (Kuroge) Wagyu, crossbreeds, and Holsteins across its own feed production, breeding, dairy, and fattening operations; known for implanting Wagyu embryos into Holstein heifers and formulating its own feed from local shochu- and beer-lees byproducts.
