Quality assessment

Family-owned since 1972 and the largest rabbit producer in Spain — and the largest rabbit slaughterhouse and processing plant in EUROPE. It is vertically integrated across feed, farming, processing and packaging, which is real supply-chain control and the reason Michelin kitchens use it. But scale and category honesty matter: this is industrial rabbit production. European commercial rabbit farming is predominantly cage-based, and no welfare certification was located for Hermi.

Scale
Very large — largest rabbit processing plant in Europe.
Feed & inputs
Company controls its own feed production; composition not published in located sources.
Animal welfare
NO third-party welfare certification located. Commercial European rabbit production is overwhelmingly cage/colony-cage housing; Hermi publishes no contrary standard in located sources. Treat welfare as UNKNOWN, leaning conventional.
Environmental
Nothing located.
Transparency
Medium — corporate structure and vertical integration are published; farm-level and welfare detail are not.

Caveats

NAME COLLISION FIXED: Ferraro's menus 'Hermi Farms braised rabbit'. There is no 'Hermi Farms' — it is Grupo Hermi, a Spanish processor group. Same entity as the existing grupo-hermi row; do not create a duplicate.

Spain's largest rabbit-meat producer since 1972, selling under Hermi/HermiFresh/Hermiberico brands; supplies fresh and prepared rabbit under EU animal-welfare regulation.
