Osaka was the first Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas when it opened in 1967 . Now with two locations, West Sahara and Henderson, it has become a home town favorite and withstood the test of time. It is currently operated by the second generation of the Nakanishi family.

Osaka Catering has provided over 30 million pieces of sushi to parties up to 2000 people. We have 12 on site Sushi Bars available for private parties.

Osaka Japanese Bistro in Las Vegas was voted by Japan’s largest weekly magazine, the Asahi Shukan, as one of the 50 best Japanese Restaurants. Osaka was the only one outside of Japan given this honor. Osaka Japanese Bistro is also a 20-time winner of the “Best of Las Vegas” Award.

Osaka’s upscale and conveniently located Henderson location features an airy and open modern design, as well as an onsite art gallery and performance stage with weekly live jazz performances. Of course it also features a large sushi bar, tatami rooms and teppan grill.

Went here for the first time and absolutely love! They have a HUGE menu and quality fish. Tasteful, fresh and clean. Service was also great. Server was kind and helpful, all staff were attentive. Little pricey but definitely worth it.

This is a review of catering, which I hired for a party at my house about a month ago. I wasn’t sure what to order but I knew I wanted sushi/japanese. They brought a large sushi boat, veggie tempura, salad, fried rice, edamame, salad and all the sides stuff like ginger, wasabi, and sauces. They even brought an extra side platter of vegetable sushi for the vegetarians/people with allergies. It was so yummy, gorgeous, and although the sushi lasted pretty much for the duration of the party there were only a few pieces left at the end. Everyone loved it. The price was very reasonable too. I highly recommend them if you want sushi at your party.

Quite possibly the best nigiri I’ve had. It’s clear that they know their fish and provide great quality. The 12 piece chef’s choice nigiri was a great value at $35, with excellent amaebi, uni, toro etc. Well over $35 worth of sushi and every piece was great quality. Even the beef teriyaki that my 7 year old nephew had received excellent reviews from everyone at the table due to the quality of the meat. The service of the staff lived up to the quality of the food as well.

If you’re visiting the strip and want some great Japanese food, avoid the crowds and head a couple miles west on Sahara to Osaka. I’ll be going every time I’m in town.

Amazing. We went there 3 out of our 4 day trip. Date night, family lunch and dinner with friends. The service is excellent. Mostly local crowd . The food is absolutely delicious. Hidden gem! We loved it! Don't hesitate!!!

50+ years ago a guy founded this restaurant. It has won numerous awards and ratings. But what matters to you is whether the food is good now. My experience was yes, the food is good now. The customer sitting near me was a weekly, long-time regular and a Nihonjin, so we can assume he agrees that the food is good--and authentic. The service staff was, to a person, very friendly and attentive.

Incredible food. A bit off the beaten path from the Vegas strip. We got a booth; it gives a great Japanese cultural environment for enjoying the food. Enjoyed sushi, pickled veggies, chicken wings and the beef Yakisoba. Dessert was a must with the tempura ice cream.

The food was absolutely delicious. One of my best experiences in Japanese sushi food. Our chef was Mr. Ryota, you don't need the menu, trust his good judgment and professionalism. A family atmosphere, I was here with my husband on a Monday with soft music, delicious food and incredible attention from our chef. I also recommend taking it out of the sake house cold. The menu has the Titanic which are different types of sushi and please please trust Chef Ryota's judgment. This is was one of my best food experience. Good price, nice dessert, great place, great food.

Superb Japanese place off strip in Las Vegas. I lived in Japan for a couple of years - this place is legit.

Innovative rolls are delicious! Expansive menu. Fast service.

I’m not only Japanese but also from Osaka (yep just like the name of this restaurant lol) the nation’s kitchen. We know Japanese cuisine. We know sushi. More and more authentic Japanese food, sushi and Izakaya restaurants are opening in Las Vegas. But this place has been holding it down as one of the TRUE best for decades. The sushi quality at its sister branch on Sahara are as top notch as this one in Henderson but other food is okay. However, any food at the Henderson is all first class. It can’t get any better than this. Nothing to complain. Just bring your $$$!

The overall experience was great. The service was on point, and our waiter provide us with a lot of great insight and recommendations on the best bang for the buck. we ordered two of the giant boats.

They had multiple boats to select from the first boat was a great mix of all available options from chicken steak, tempura, and a sushi mix. The second boat we received was all sushi and it was all good.

The time to receive food was a little slow, but the waiter was attentive, making sure all drinks were full and everybody have everything they needed .

I would add this to my list of reasonably priced sushi, and I would go back on a regular basis .

If you’re in the neighborhood, check it out I don’t think you’ll regret it. And stick with the boats. They’re definitely the best bang for the buck a ton of food.

My wife and I came here for our 29th Anniversary. This was our first time here and everyone was very friendly and the food was great. Head Chef John was very experienced with Sushi and very friendly. He made us a Kissing Bear Orange Plate. Thanks John! We will be back. Osaka Japanese Bistro has a piano bar and the pianist played and sang very well.
