"This spot in Cleveland’s AsiaTown neighborhood attracts diners for steamer baskets flush with xiao long bao. But those who explore the menu further find an array of outstanding Shanghai-style soups, noodle bowls, and meat dishes. Worth calling out is the wonton soup with shrimp dumplings, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion noodles, shredded pork with preserved vegetables, and soy sauce duck."
Eater: The 38 Essential Cleveland Restaurants
"Dining at LJ Shanghai is a joyful experience — especially if you’re bringing someone along for the first time. Watching someone you love bite into the xiao long bao ($5), or soup dumplings, for the first time is like playing them your favorite song. But the more you get to know this 10-table eatery, which opened in 2017, the deeper the connection becomes. Owner LJ greets you at the door of the casual AsiaTown joint with a joke, a smile and your takeout order. The restaurant is an education on Shanghainese specialities such as crispy pig ears with chili sauce ($7) and exquisite, savory pan-fried noodles ($12). The experiences range from the refreshing garlic cucumber salad in a delicate vinaigrette dressing to the plump sesame-soy Shanghai meatball to the spicy chongqing noodle soup with slow-roasted beef brisket or pork belly ($15). There’s especially joy in scooping chile into that soup until scorching — a craving I seem to have around lunchtime on Cleveland’s hottest days when I’m wearing my lightest gray suit. A perverse, lip-numbing, sweaty joy that keeps me coming back for more."

Google review of LJ Shanghai by Kevin Maloy ★★★★★ "Read about LJ Shanghai in an article that said it was the best Chinese restaurant in Ohio. I just happened to be in the area shortly after and thought that sounded good. The food was wonderful! Absolutely worth the trip!
On a recommendation from whom I believe was the owner, I got the soup dumplings and the spicy beef noodle soup. Both were incredible. I've personally never had soup dumplings before. Steamed dumplings yes, but I've never had one that was juicy when you bit into it. Its a completely different food! You can tell they're handmade and each one was better than the last. I even dipped a few into my soup broth and the hot oil was a great addition to them. The spicy noodle soup was also incredible. The hot oil was not overwhelmingly spicy but it had a subtle and growing heat to it. It added more to the flavor than it was hot. I could even still taste the oil on the tip of my tongue a few days after. I would recommend those dishes and they seem to be the most popular, however I don't think there's anything that wouldn't be delicious on that menu.
Parking is street parking but its not a real tight area so there is plenty of parking within a block between the main road and side streets and you probably won't have to fit into a tight spot or parallel park. Parking is free. Most of the area I could see in front of the building was 1 hour parking, but that probably wouldn't be a problem for most people coming into eat.
Check this place out!!"

We hold 105 venues in Cleveland, OH and could score 17 of them. This one is not among them, so it has no position — not a low one.
There is no score breakdown to show: nothing we read about this venue earned points in any of the four categories, so a bar chart of zeroes would look like a verdict on the kitchen rather than on what it publishes. What we did read is below.
v1.7.4 0.0/100 = sourcing 0.0/50 (named-farm 0 distinct, named-region 0 distinct, attribute 0 distinct, buzzword 0 distinct) + farm partners 0.0/20 (none scored) + registry 0.0/12 (none listed) + press 0.0/18 (capped at 35% of the 0.0-point evidence base).
Buzzwords only. This venue uses sourcing language ("farm-fresh", "locally sourced") but names no farms, regions, or verifiable attributes.
