20% pre-tax gratuity and 3% operations fee is included in all checks.
Please Note:
We add a 20% Pre-Tax Gratuity to all checks at Little Whale Oyster Bar. This is designed to make sure our front of house service staff can focus on delivering great hospitality to our guest and not focus on how much they will be making in gratuity. We also believe that after a great meal, you shouldn't be subject to a math session.
Our staff members have family, children, mortgages and other financial obligations and we think they should be able to rely on a steady income. This included gratuity is noted on both our menus and our printed receipts.
We believe in treating our service staff well, our kitchen staff well, and most importantly our guests well, If any guests strongly oppose the 20% gratuity, please ask to speak with management and we will kindly remove the gratuity from the check.
This gratuity is only distributed to our service staff and no member of management or any kitchen staff receives any portion of this service charge.
Thanks for your support. Cheers

We hold 196 venues in Boston, MA and could score 48 of them. This one is not among them, so it has no position — not a low one.
There is no score breakdown to show: nothing we read about this venue earned points in any of the four categories, so a bar chart of zeroes would look like a verdict on the kitchen rather than on what it publishes. What we did read is below.
v1.7.4 0.0/100 = sourcing 0.0/50 (named-farm 0 distinct, named-region 0 distinct, attribute 0 distinct, buzzword 0 distinct) + farm partners 0.0/20 (none scored) + registry 0.0/12 (none listed) + press 0.0/18 (capped at 35% of the 0.0-point evidence base).
Buzzwords only. This venue uses sourcing language ("farm-fresh", "locally sourced") but names no farms, regions, or verifiable attributes.
