8ARM’s Japanese-style kanzume bar INK this weekend will close to make way for a “natural” wine bar called 8ARM WINE , according to a press release Thursday.
INK’s last day will be Saturday, August 31 , before the debut of 8ARM WINE the following Wednesday, September 4 .
The wine bar will offer organic, biodynamic wines from boutique producers with limited distribution, at 710 Ponce De Leon Ave NE.
General manager and beverage director Joshua Fryer will oversee the wine list featuring by-the-glass offerings that will change regularly.
Wine by the bottle will be the same at both 8ARM and 8ARM WINE.
Fryer will also continue to offer “gong fu tea” service, an “intimate and personalized tea ceremony,” at 8ARM WINE with tea selections sourced from China, Japan, Taiwan, and India.
Curated tinned seafood and conservas will remain on the food menu, with the addition of a few plated dishes from 8ARM’s kitchen, such as cheese plates, pâtés, and desserts.
Fryer will also host winemaker meetings, industry tastings, and more within the space.

Before the space was home to INK, 8ARM operated a coffee cafe out of the 20-seat cocktail bar space.
The restaurant now operates its morning and coffee operations out of its adjacent 3HEART Roastery .
8ARM, 8ARM Wine, and 3HEART Roastery are all situated in adjoining spaces in the Paris on Ponce building.
A fourth concept from Owner Nhan Le — Ama Oyster — is in permitting to open alongside the three existing concepts.
No word on Ama’s opening timeline.

We hold 140 venues in Detroit, MI and could score 21 of them. This one is not among them, so it has no position — not a low one.
There is no score breakdown to show: we haven’t been able to look at this venue’s sourcing yet, so there is nothing to break down. A row of zeroes here would say we checked and found nothing, and we have not checked.
v1.7.4 0.0/100 — NOT YET ANALYZED. We have not been able to look: no findable site or menu, or the site blocks crawlers. This is the absence of a measurement, NOT a finding of 'no sourcing', and must never be presented as one. Score is a floor and carries no information about this venue's quality.
